The Fezhead Good Fuel Guide
(just tell 'em we sent you)

The Fabulous Fezheads following years of patient research, are now able to offer you a guide to their favoured eating and drinking establishments around the country.

The amount of energy used by The Fezheads during their performances, means that nutritional intake is vitally important. And did you know that Beer has a very high energy level? Well, that's what we heard.

If we like somwhere, we say so. If as a result someone else goes there, brilliant. A bit more trade for them and they'll maybe still be there when we go back.

If on the other hand we don't like them, then I'm afraid we say so too. No sense in anyone else being disappointed is there.

This guide is sensibly broken up into a Beer section (which is by far the largest) and a food section, which to be honest encompases everything else.

You can rest assured that every establishment mentioned in this guide has been visited by The Fezheads ... Though not as anonymously as Egon Ronay!!

Hosts to the Fabulous Fezheads for Hop Festival and Cleggett's Day.

The Sun Inn has been a favourite of ours for a long time now. We arrived there to dance (unofficially) at the Hop Festival in 1996. Such was our reception that the organiser invited us to the 1997 Festival there and then. We were happy to oblige.
When we're there, you'll find us taking up one of the corners in the dining area. A perfect place for the Music Krime Dept and always well received.

Hosts to the Fabulous Fezheads for Fig & Date Fayre in 1998 and 1999

Location Map

Having hounded Phil & Jan from the Oddfellows in Wimborne, we tracked them down to Blandford and started all over again! As Blandford doesn't have its' own Festival, we thought we'd give it one and after much research, renewed the ancient Fig & Date Fayre. We have never heard them complain about us, but there again, we are quite loud.

THE FABULOUS FEZHEADS - EX-PUBS

For some reason, a few of the pubs we have visited have closed / changed landlord / done a runner (not any of those mentioned above, we hasten to add). Obviously The Fabulous Fezheads cannot accept any responsibility for any of these events. But it does seem rather wierd!

FOOD

Dine Indian, Watford

Our anonymous diners check out the establishment Dine Indian,
328 St. Albans Rd,
Watford,
Hertfordshire.
WD2 5PQ.

A much needed refreshment stop after entertaining the Saracens at Vicarage Road, just after Christmas.

Widely agreed that this was one of the best currys we've ever had (and we've had a few!)

Highly recommended.

Our principal reason for including Indian resaurants on our website.

We ate here at the Chippenham Festival 1999 and had a reasonable meal. We returned here in 2000 during the Fig & Date Fayre. MISTAKE!

  • We were kept waiting for half an hour past our booking time.
  • We were given (and billed for) dishes we hadn't ordered.
  • The meals (Kasmiri, Tikka Masala, Pasanda etc etc) were bland and tasteless.
  • The meat was dry.
  • We were NOT impressed! Hence their mention here. We DON'T recommend this establishment.
